The Brittany, also known as the Brittany Spaniel, is a breed which originated in France at the beginning of the 20th century. They were first introduced to the United States in 1931. This breed is of the sporting dog and was used for pointing and retrieving small game and birds.
Appearance
The Brittany has a flat or wavy coat, which can be either a dark orange and white or liver and white in color. Their eyes are brown in color. They have a rounded skull, tapered muzzle and short ears, and tail measuring about 4 inches, sometimes no tail at all. The weight of the Brittany ranges from 30 to 40 lb. Their height and length are about the same being 17.5 to 20.5 inches.
